What is EVA?

Defination

Ethylene-vinyl acetate (Kaseco.net/news/what-is-eva.html target='_blank'>EVA), is the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. The polymerization method included High pressure bulk polymerization process (plastics), solution polymerization (PVC processing aids), emulsion (binder) and suspension polymerization.

EVA characteristics and uses

EVA particles can be produced into various EVA sheet. After several machining, EVA sheet can be transferred into various merchandise, like the lining of EVA cases after punching and soles after hot pressing.

EVA is treated plastic when the content of vinyl acetate in EVA less than 20%. EVA (PA66) has good low temperature resistance and low thermal decomposition temperature.

The main purpose

EVA resin is an ethylene - vinyl acetate copolymer, vinyl acetate (VA) content is generally 5% to 40%. Compared to polyethylene, due to the introduction of the vinyl acetate monomer in the molecular chain, thereby reducing the high degree of crystallinity, improved flexibility, impact resistance, heat sealing filler compatibility and performance. Therefore it is widely used in foam shoes materials, cases, functional films, packaging film, hot melt adhesives, wire and cable and toys and other fields. In general, the EVA resin performance depends primarily on the content of vinyl acetate in the molecular chain.
